We have received £7,500 from the National Lottery's "Awards for All" grant programme to start a softball league in 2009.
The league will be open to mixed teams from the region - and there will be eight places in the first year. The money we've received will be used to help new teams get started by providing equipment on loan and subsidising other start-up costs.
We hope to run some free taster sessions this summer for groups of people, including companies and other organisations, who might like to put a team into the league.
